Community Involvement

Calca Solutions supports the community through a variety of initiatives and organizations. To inform educate the next generation of students pursuing careers in STEM, Calca Solutions has been involved with an array of programs through the Lake Area Industry Alliance (LAIA) including the annual Chem Expo which reaches nearly 2,000 area middle school students each year. For more than 20 years, this event has continued to highlight career paths in industry, sparking the imagination of aspiring scientists and engineers.

Environmental Health and Safety

Staff is also involved in Keep Louisiana Beautiful initiatives, which is a state board that focuses on litter abatement and educational programming. Supporting Keep Louisiana Beautiful, Calcasieu Parish is an affiliate of the organization which focuses on litter abatement through Pick-It-Up Calcasieu. Each April, there is an emphasis on motivating the community to participate in roadway, corridor, and neighborhood litter pick-ups during Love the Boot Week.

Empowering People

The team also supports the United Way of Southwest Louisiana and its mission to help make a positive impact on families and children in need. United Way has a variety of fundraising events, such as Battle for the Paddle and Smoke & Barrel, and through participating in those events as well as giving programs, the staff at Calca Solutions contributes to the United Way to further its goal of assisting residents with economic mobility, education, health services, and basic needs for families in Southwest Louisiana.

Further supporting the community, Calca Solutions participates with the Brimstone Historical Society, dedicated to fostering community connectivity with arts and culture in Calcasieu Parish through exhibits, festivals, and educational programming. In addition, Calca Solutions is involved with the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Memphis as well as community involvement with churches, schools, and recreational organizations.
